ok. so they put the general in a sleeping bag, then sat on his chest while strangling him to death with an electrical cord.  it would be a good interrogation technique, if it did not absolutely, throughout, preclude communication on the part of the interrogatee. however,  it's an almost 100% effective way to prevent escape. but the real problem, as i blogged  here the other day, is that it's treason, because saddam's armed forces are our  "secret weapon." killing ba'athists is tantamount to killing republicans.
