the bbc got hoaxed today by the comedy revolutionaries the yes men, who sent a "spokesman" from dow chemical to declare on the network that it was, on the 20th anniversary of the bhopal disaster, going to set up a fund to compensate the victims. actually, the statement was a pretty clever attack on the behavior of the chemical giant, which bought out union carbide, the company which ran the disaster. the yes man called uc "this nightmare for the world." anyway, this was both pointed and amusing, but not quite as funny as when the us military hoaxed cnn and others into reporting that the attack on fallujah was underway on october 14.
