seems rather unlikely that they'd institute such a policy if there were never any problems, no? and it also seems that, if the claims of desecration were made up out of whole cloth they would continue, whatever the policy. one thing i dug about the admin's reaction to the newsweek story. they said it was "demonstrably false." now how would one demonstrate that? and don't you think that if they can demonstrate it they should go right ahead?
