Crusader Mike is reasonably sure that no one had ever used the word "enthralled" about the head of a central bank before. Certainly, no one was ever so smitten with Alan Greenspan...except maybe Andrea Mitchell, and that makes you wonder what's up with that? It's kinda like Cher having the hots for Boris Yeltsin.... Anyway, we can tell that the bar is fairly low for rockstardom in the public policy arena.
"Bernanke displayed two marked contrasts to his predecessor: An ability to communicate in plain English and an unwillingness to tackle issues outside monetary policy. In some instances, he showed both at once.Asked if taxes were too high, he replied, "Compared to what?" Asked whether inequality should be considered when cutting taxes, he said, "These are value judgments. It's what people have elected you to do, and clearly it's your responsibility."
Gerrkk. A talking head who tells congress to do its job? It's kinda like in high school, when as an aspiring guitarist, I just wanted to watch the band do its thing...I might want to sit and watch this guy...except I doubt that there's any hope of congress doing it's job well enough to have any of those bozos achieve rock stardom.
