my column  finally endorses the drug war. btw these are the last few columns i'll be writing for creators syndicate. they were always perfectly nice, and their editors let me get away nearly with murder, while aslso referring to myself as a "syndicated columnist." but on the other hand they never managed to sell my column to anyoned who wasn't buying it already. lately not even that. i feel a little bit burned out op-edwise; i'd rather go back to a whenever-the-spirit-moves-me type mode. 6.5 will be the last. next time: the age of cowardice.

i'd err on the side of letting these folks arrange their own lives. do  not blame the authorities for failing to intervene. blame the assholes who think this is a good life.

apologies for slow and no-blogging: i am swamped with grading etc and seemingly trapped in lassitude. i just want to say that the stream of totalitarian news from the bush administration is becoming absurd. these people despise freedom, democracy, the constitution. the justice departmenmt can't get clearance to investigate the nsa. i believe that the extent of domestic spying is very much greater than has been revealed; i just hope the facts emerge. we kidnap you, fly you off and torture you, figure out you're innocent, and drop you on a hill in albania. but you can't bring any legal action because state secrets might be revealed. it's all power, all surveillance, all lies, all secrecy. we have got to free ourselves.

is there a war on christianity? of course, if only because the american state is governed by moslems, buddhists, and satanists, who persecute christians between their spasms of pederastic bestialism.

i feel sorry for patrick kennedy, since i too have various addiction problems. and i feel sorry for tom delay, addicted to golf, self-serving claptrap, hyper-moralistic vicious hypocrisy etc. i hear, actually, that betty ford has a new clinic for self-serving hypocrisy, one of the most difficult conditions in today's contemporary word.

i tend to think sometimes that people richly deserve death. but while the right-wing blogs go mad for moussaoui, i just want to say that he's not exactly the best witness against himself. some al qaeda types testified that m was considered too unstable and unreliable to have any active participation in an important operation. somehow, having listened to his statements through the trial, i find this plausible. meanwhile as the latimes points out, the administration refuses even to charge, much less try, the people who actually planned the operation.

i've got no problem with the idea of of admitting a taliban spokesman to yale. i'll tel you where i'd draw thge line, though. scott mclellan, apologist for a criminal regime.
