so i've been showing political/protest songs each day in my "recent political thought" course. so far: merle haggard 'okie from muskogee' and bob marley and the wailers, 'burning and looting. then this, located by my student jake (who's the treasurer of the college democrats). i'm not going to skew right in the long run because you'd have to say that most significant protest music has been on the other side. but here's what public enemy looks like today:
