this attack on the intercontinental hotel in kabul sounds pretty heavyweight. it reminds me of mumbai, actually, and they're describing a series of large explosions, snipers on the roof firing rocket-propelled grenades at the vice president's house, rumors of approaching truck bombs, etc. this could be rather a disaster in terms of its timing for the obama administration, which has more or less declared victory. it would be important to know who is actually staying at the hotel.
