what i would say is: don't, in your opposition to american militarism, make the mistake of giving a pass to the people we're fighting against. now, one might approach the news that the taliban used an 8-year-old girl as a bomb with an admixture of skepticism: the source is the afghan government. (however, the afghan government is often extremely critical of the american military in 'collateral damage' cases.) but this is actually the kind of thing these killer clowns do: they are religious fanatics who seem to be able by some sort of psychotic-yet-idiotic process to justify killing absolutely anyone, whether connected to the actual conflict they're in or not. it's deranged. even if you don't think the american military should be the people to stop them, you've got to admit: they need to be stopped. if this happened as they say it did (here, sweetie, take this bag over to that police station), the people who did it should die slowly in excruciating pain.
