remember when the idea was that mitt romney was the most electable republican candidate, because he didn't actually take any positions? that 47% rap was just entirely screwed. folks are saying that now romney just has to win the first debate. i say this is physically and intellectually impossible. he's mitt romney and the person he's debating is barack obama. what resources of policy expertise or off-the-cuff eloquence is romney going to bring to bear? now, the thing is that if you think someone is going to be horrible and they aren't, you'l give a positive evaluation, and it wouldn't take much for romney to exceed my expectations. but if you think romney can save himself with his own tongue, you haven't been listening.
