dan dennett may be better on free will, but i'm better on country music, so it's a wash. here's something. i think that the best of the generation of country artists that emerged in the late 80s and early 90s are getting to be, and should be, venerated as among the greatest artists that the music has produced, and they are living treasures, american masters, comparable to george jones, johnny cash, loretta lynn, dolly parton, merle haggard. i might mention patty loveless, vince gill, alan jackson, randy travis, clint black, lorrie morgan, doug stone, pam tillis, dwight yoakam.
