we're supposed to look at an image like the one below and sympathize with the police because they are so vulnerable. they are amazingly armored head to foot, however: zoom in on that footwear; i have no idea what that is. but you better hope they don't start rodneykinging you in that stuff. it sure as hell looks like a sci-fi army of occupation, doesn't it? they were there to protect iesha evans, thank god, and her first-amendment rights. they did arrest her, though. no doubt they felt that she put them in jeopardy, or failed to listen as they barked orders at her. one thing about the recent encounters: people - in particular black women (diamond reynolds) - are maintaining amazing composure as police freak out: that image has that too.
if y'all keep dressing up in darth vader drag and coming downtown with your arsenal it's going to be hard to hold on to the idea that we're on the same side. i'd pull together with a lot of different people, but not if you're just doing a pantomime of total evil, violence, and oppression all day. you're occupying the neighborhood with storm troopers, then whining that you're on our side. it's obvious, in particular with blm protests, that the police are in a completely oppositional stance, bringing an ever-more annihilating arsenal to bear on the american people. that is not going to turn out well; it already hasn't.
you gonna come down here like that and then complain that you're not getting enough support, that we don't "have your back'? that line of killer robots behind you has your back; i guess you'll have to be satisfied with that.
just a wee bit hard not to feel the totalitarianism these days, is it not? this is where american democracy fetched up.
